[Lowfer] USA loop details

Well Folks,

I am not sure what to think!!
The results of putting up the 7/8" hardline loop were dissapointing. Just
before taking the 5/8" Cu tubing down, jay requested the current stats on
the loop. Which were as follows

1) Current 1.9 volts P to P used scope
2) Voltage across 50 Ohm resistor at feeding loop. 6.5 volts
3) Current # of turns on matching transformer 10 and 1 pass through on loop
side
4) Capacitance to resonate 488 PF Used LCR meter

So, after that was done my son Steven and I measured out 40' of 7/8"
hardline and marked the 20' point and 10' either side of that, which would
form the diamond. Pulled it up into position bent the corners into 90
degress and Wa-La. The loop has risen. Whipped out the old torch and Mapp
gas and soldered the braid to the ends of the loop, and eliminated the
mechanical by soldering directly to the capacitor.

Now the bad news.

1) Turns on transformer 14 with a pass through on the loop. that looks
good, shows lower impedance

2)Capacitance definately more then old loop, but not sure how much did not
want to unsolder it to test it yet.

3)Voltage at feed point confirmed still at 6.5 P to P on scope

4) Bad news, Current shows only 1.2 volts P to P on scope

Any clues, ideas, theories, postulations, guesses, or ventures? these seem
to be conflicting datum??

Although Jay "VD" says hos field strength picked up a couple of DB!!!

AAAARRRGGGGHHHHH

Ehhh Whats up Doc?
