I havent checked for noise but I suspect it may be pretty bad
Another unit,, not as well designed and filtered I converted to
13.7 volts. Works good but is really noisy.

It also occurred that one could install a shim held in place with Silicon
calk and mount the PS board on this and then isolate the case from B-
I think I will do this as there is enough vertical room in the case. It
will then be less likely to have something conductive bridge the cases

you need a load to get the regulator working thus the 1/2 amp load on 5
volts

for TX/RX shouldnt be a problem though. I loaded the 35 volts down
with a Pc of double sided PC board,, +- to each side and dunked in 
salt water. Was surprised to see 12 amps Mself
makes a nice lite weight supply
