Hey Bob, clever and gets the Amps as well. Is it that the resister on
the 5V line is required as a "sense" load, else no output?

Have you checked for rx noise pickup at 137 for this setup? Yes, I
expect you will not be tx and rx same time, but there may be a condition
when not tx but supplies are on and wanting to rx.
