Hi Larry:
Sorry for ignoring your email - I just lost it in the pileup
the other day..... and got started on another project.

Hifer - I use an Epson oscillator chip, like the circuit that is
on Lyle's Web site. I made up a PCB for the Epson oscillator and
a K1EL ID chip... The whole thing is about 2 inches square, and
looks great in a sardine can - hi !  Runs straight into a vertical
half wave dipole that I throw straight up into the tree, and the bottom
is about 5 feet off the ground.  Copied in VE7, and W4, W5 and of course
New England. Also copied by M0BMU, Norway and Spain.
Not bad for less than 50 mW DC input !!

If you're interested I will send the circuit - I use a dip switch to
change the message on the ID chip, and it has a two toroid filter on the
output.
