Yes, the kudos go to John. I'm just sending (or intending to send) a 2400/F 
uv/m @ 300m signal. Let's call this an "FS" ? (Freebee signal). I can load 
up a curtain rod or bedspring to generate the signal and adjust the input 
power to the FS level. Same as the HiFer approach (for those of us that use 
the field strength method of setting up the radiated power per Pt 15).

The quality of the reception is 100% due to the distance to the receiver, 
the craftiness of the guy at the receiving end, and his noise level. 
Probably more of a true sport than sky wave grabbing because the mystifying 
conductive layer up there plays only a minor role and the playing field is 
therefore more level. John is ~40 miles from here and Jay is ~115.
