Subject: [Lowfer] UWL's new loading coil
You can see my new loading coil and variometer under construction at
http://www.nutstreet.net/radio/projects/lowfer/coil/
The coil has all brass hardware (no iron) and the variometer is a woven
design, too.
Should have this one on the air by tomorrow night.
The variometer calculates to about 840uH. The coil should be about 7500uH
... but the length ended up a lot less than expected ... should be about
16 inches instead of the 11 inches it is now. You can see the extra room
at the top of the form.
Shouldn't I just be able to spread out the wraps on the big coil to be
closer to 16" to reach the target inductance?
Thanks,
Eric
