I learned the code when my father KA3GUE SK spent
countless hours sending to me with a CPO.

Eventfully he got me an Allied Radio code course that was
on 78 RPM records. That got my speed up into the 20 wpm range
and then I used to copy W1AW.

Funny thing is that I can't remember stuff I read last week but
give me a sheet of paper with some text and a straight key and I can pound
out
the cw just like I could 47 years ago :-) Once you learn it you never
forget!
