[Lowfer] Ralph's Hint on Compaq

Ralph commented on my problem getting to BIOS setup on a Compaq pc. I
looked for that flashing signal on POST, Ralph, but it's not there, nor
does <F10> do anything at that time except raise a KB error,
understandable. I recall something different about the startup sequence
when I first looked at that pc. It may have been as you said. However I
reloaded the OS after formatting the HD and that may have removed that
"feature." Ha, this being my first tangle w/ a Compaq, I am forewarned
on others.
My other post on the sound card and Argo problem may also fall into
this bag.

Most Compaq's will show a flashing white cursor block in the far upper
right hand side of the screen immediately after the POST runs.
Pressing the <F10> key when the flashing block is visible drops you
into the BIOS. This may not be the case here, as a very few machines
did have a setup disk to configure the machine. Naturally, that's
usually the first thing (other than the instruction manual) that the
computer owner loses...
