Just to add to Lyle's notes - I was able to copy very nice signals through
24 hours / day from the AMRAD beacon. At the time I used only Spectrogram
and got crisp, clean copy even through the mid-day period.
I don't know the direction (azimuth) of their antenna, but I had a pipeline
directly to the site, but it was always there. Too bad it has ceased
operation, as it served as a nice test signal for the 137 kHz band, and a
check of receive and antenna equipment.
