I have seen a graph somewhere that shows chicken wire has almost as much 
capacity per square foot as copper screening, or copper sheeting, for that 
matter. If a little additional diameter has to be added to make up for the 
capacity loss, the chicken wire (or hen wire) is still far lower in weight 
than screen. Much less wind resistant too.
