Per Rik's graphs my sloping top hat adds about 3 db to the antenna's
efficiency.  I believe it because present NC antenna appears to be
getting out the best of all antennas I've erected so far.

However I recall seeing Lowfer antennas that were reported to work well
that had the top hat wires coming all the way down.  I believe such a
design was published in the Lowdown many years ago and was also in Ken
Cornell's LF Scrap Book.  If I had your energy I would try this with my
antenna.
