Hi Don: In my case I used an old CB crystal ( Receive channel 11 ) third
overtone, and removed the cased by unsoldering. Then I ground it down to
8818 kHz and used the divide by 64 pin on the 4060.

I have used crystals in the 4 MHz range and divided by 16, etc..... so
anything you can find - 17Mhz - /128  or 8.8Mhz /64 or 4.4 MHz /32
or 2.2Mhz /16 etc.

I have placed a gif of the 4060 on the web site - it's a clipping from
Ken Cornell's Scrap Book 10th edition, page 54.

( P.S.) the original schematic came from George Jacob  Lowfer G I R, when he
and I along with Mike A3O were doing Lowfer work 1987/88 - including SSB !
