Good catch - both the problem and TAG in wolf.=20
Probably is a good idea to have all the latest drivers for everything on =
the system as well...although I can't ever seem to find time to do so...

Subject: [Lowfer] TAG Wolfed in NC
After many hours of trying to Wolf TAG with no success I begin to =
suspect I=20
had a sound card problem. This sound card had previously worked great =
with=20
Wolf while running Windows 98. XP was installed on the machine back =
in the=20
spring which ended frequent lockups. The sound card also worked good =
with XP=20
with one exception I noticed while running Argo. With Windows 98 I =
could=20
drive the Argo input level bar into the red but with XP the bar seemed =
to=20
saturate and never hit red no matter how hot the input signal. =
Recording=20
Wolf with Cool Edit gave similar results. I could set recording input =
level=20
just above -6 but that was the limit. I told my youngest Son about =
the=20
problem on which he quickly replied that I needed to update the sound =
card=20
drivers for XP. He then poked a few keys and voila! Argo would hit =
red and=20
Cool Edit could be driven to zero. I recorded and processed TAG's =
signal=20
withe the following results:
E:\Dex\WOLF>wolf061 -q tag0430.wav -f 2000 -r 8000.48

About an hour before this recording was made John put on a steady =
carrier=20
while I looked for it with Argo. Nothing was seen. So unless =
propagation=20
changed dramatically Wolf will get through when QRSS60 will not. =
Amazing!
