Thanks to all that responded to my query. I installed a pot between the R-75
and the computer and this helps reduce the signal to a more manageable
level.
Guess what the 'real' problem turned out to be? It wasn't Jay's signal that
I was receiving! The signal appeared at the correct frequency 185.301, when
I put in a .53 Hz offset in the calibration section - the same as the other
computer. Turns out this computer requires a 13 Hz offset.
I'll verify that Jay's signal looks OK on the laptop tomorrow, hopefully, if
he receives my request.

PS: John, per your suggestion, I when out and found a new wife but her
laptop computer turned out to be and old 386 model that doesn't even work
with ARGO. Now what shall I do?
