Given recent advances in weak signal modes like QRSS
and WOLF, I'd like to suggest that we try our hand
at "Medfer" activity again this season.
Using just the very top end of the AM broadcast band, from
say 1704.7 to 1704.9khz we should be able to operate dozens
of beacons in QRSS mode without interference to each other.
Even with the splatter from high powered radio stations
on 1700khz, I believe that long distance reception would
be possible.
I plan to put my own "XM" beacon back on within the next
week or so...and if there is sufficient interest, I'll do major
updates to the "Noise Floor" web site to cover
Medfer activity.
If you currently operate a medium frequency beacon, or plan
to during the coming season, I'd love to get as much information
as possible about your activities.
