[Lowfer] 8 kHz VLF loading coil idea

Why not install two hinged wooden masts and hang a nice loop between them???
But then you could hang a nice flattop off the two masts. Build the classic
A framed masts with the hinged top section. You only need one guy rope off
the opposite end as the antenna to hold it up. Use three 22' boards and some
bolts to put it together. Add a little cross bracing on the bottom 22'
section. Well I suppose this is only going to get you to 40' so you might
have some ideas for the top hinged section to get it to 50'. A couple of
tall used power poles sunk in the ground would work fine and not need
guying.

Huh? Are you saying your variometer-soon-to-be-loading coil will not
vary--at all? I'm not so sure this trick can be applied LowFER-wise.
Seems "loopie." Who put you up to this, Bill, Mike? Figures.

While you are downsizing yer loading coil and jacking up the main
masting, don't neglect ye tophat for total height. Of course getting a
big one up there is a challenge, as is the guying. Take advantage of the
favorable wx now for all pole work.
