Lucky you! We have taken a vote on this and wish to inform you that taking 
apart the coil without turning this into a 8.9K loading coil would be a 
crime against Lowferdum. :)

Can you measure the Q with a signal generator and resonating capacitor? You 
could even insert some ferrite to increase the inductance buy a big factor 
without causing much of a saturation effect at high antenna currents.

Can you take a digital pix of it?
