Hi John,
That was my point- if I am not hearing it ( with a 20M Moxon) it may be because
it is close in to me. I'll look again tonight after the storms pass.
A question for the collective intelligence here.
This weekend I swapped out my 1 meter dia shielded loop+ Burhans amp for a 2.1M
dia loop. The S/N on some very weak NDB's is easily better. QRN levels are also
up- but not as much as the signals. At what point does increasing loop diameter
not result in meaningful increase in S/N?.
There is a condition on 10 GHz EME where moon noise becomes the limiting factor
on a receive system's noise temperature.Bigger dish does not help.
