This is not exactly a lowfer topic, although seems to me Ken Cornell
had at least one crystal set in one of his scrapbooks. At one time I
went to the local mineral/jewelry supply store and bought a sample of
every one of the minerals which were touted for use as detectors.
Hooked them up to a curve tracer and most showed some rectification.
Tried a couple (iron pyrites in particular, which has an even lower
forward voltage drop than galena) in my "super crystal set" and they
worked quite well.
