Don't forget kite flying big antennas for 136kc. I'll build the kite.

Thanks for all the kind words regarding LEK. Compared to the devastation
that Mitch and others have reported from ice storms this past winter, I got
off pretty easy. So far the support tower is still standing, the wind may be
subsiding (my anemometer is encased in ice so I can't tell), and the
freezing rain appears to be changing over to sleet and snow. In a couple of
days the ice should melt away and allow the restoration process to begin. At
the moment, all that is left of the LEK flat top is one spreader dangling
from the support tower. Everything else is draped over the garage roof or in
a frozen clump on the ground.
As for future LowFER operation, at the moment the proposed LF ham band seems
to offer more opportunities and challenges. But maybe the novelty will wear
off quickly and I'll be back. Anyway, summer (if it ever comes) is for
kayaking, biking, lawn mowing and all that other stuff...
