If I may start, I built that loop and Burhan's amp last fall and have
used it over the winter for rx, along w/ comparisons to a 23 turn
"portable" 6-foot loop and, of course, a vertical.

The small audio x-frmrs are available from Mouser. I made a small PCB
for it and placed it in a plastic box below the lower member of the
loop. DC is feed up the feed lone from a small wall xfmr. Works fine, is
low noise and rotatable. I've mounted mine, a 10-foot square shaped one
using RG-59 inside of 1/2 in. pvc pipe, on a 4X4 in the backyard. I
rotate it by hand, outside, as needed, and find pick-up is fairly
broad.
