Hi again: I don't think the EXP-1750a transceiver is available anymore,
niether is the LW_Max. Check out Lyle Koehler's web site, he has some stuff
that is easy to build. Also Peter is right, most of the activity is Beacon
type operation recieved on computer, although two way Qso is possible but
rare, a few of them have done it.
I am about 300 miles from LEK and I can hear him audibly some of time, also
heard hetrodyne from LEK and WE when they were both on 185.3 +/- khz. Also
had to use a lot of DSP to do that. In general one can work normal cw at a
distance of 100 miles or so ground wave, which isn't bad for 4mw erp.

Hi there, yep, that was one of the first sites I bookmarked. It's a goodie.
I plan
to delve through it more tonight when I get home... looks to be like there's
a ton of
good info on it.

I see now... I guess I am used to listening for beacons, so I assumed that
some audio was
present with Lowfer... I have been reading through a few links on the Noise
Floor site, and
I'm also findout out what kinds of transmitters are used for Lowfer
communication. Very different
from what I'm used to! I noticed that the link to Curry Communications no
longer works- I was looking
at an EXP-1750a transceiver that was listed on Noise Floor. Are they out of
business or did the website's
URL change?
