I have an old 1937 National HRO receiver that I use for AM broadcast DX,
and
can hear WABC for most of the day and certainly all night. It has two rf
stages and I use the AMRAD active antenna - great setup and the great
harmonic distortion that really mellows the audio...

They are a great radio. I have an MX with 9 coil sets
that was part of Lend Lease . A friend found it brought it back
from England for me. really works well on the lower BCB coil
lots of CBC stations fun to listen to.
