I spent the day rebuilding my K9AY.
The winds from the recent storm did some damage.
The East/West loop was down on the ground and the
top of the center pole was broken and hanging down leaving
the apex of the North/South loop at only 18'.
Replaced the broken MFJ 30' fishing pole type center support
with PVC pipe. This was the second MFJ pole to break in a years time.
Cleaned up all the connections on the loop amp/control head and it is ready to
go again! Did a quick check of signal levels of my reference NDB's and the
levels look good.
Differences between last years setup and this years:
Last year my station was setup in my 34' RV with only 75' of coax
between the loop control box and the receiver.
This year I am setup in the house and using 200' of Extra Flex 9096 low loss
coax.
I don't think there would be much loss at lowfer freqs?
I hope my overnight copies show some improvement!!
