Well the general opinion is there off by 3 to 4 cycles. I measured it on
a larke with
ARGO running at 30 second dots. WA3USG measured it with Spectran . I said
it was
a little less than 4 and Dick said 3 and 3/4 cycle low. the other reports
are\\

739,999.604 Hz. ,, Jay,W1VD

 739.9932715 ,,,Lloyd W3NF

739,995.2 W3CSW ,,then Bill got serious and said 739,995.97 and
tweaking a bit more 739,996.09

Larry Putnam made it ,,739.99532

all in all a pretty good result

and fun too

I use a HB converter with a clock Osc that never turns off , and is rock
solid . The IF is a IC 756 with a
bad enough drift that it isnt good over 30 sec dots ( try telling that to
Icom HAR ) .
the 756 had a continuos BFO adjustment and I always set things up for a
serious run by checking the current
offset against WWVB. Once that is known I tune to the frequency in
question. The 756 will only tune to the nearest 10 cycles. I also have to
take that in to consideration when narrowing down in range as well.

740 was a Good test and indicated that we should all consider playing in
the League FMT in November
