Lloyd,

Interested on your comparisons to the AMRAD ant., you say the loop is
preferred. I'm not fimilar w/ the ALA100.

1) What is the loop's size in the ALA100, and is it used at the
operating position? outside? high/low?

2) Where was the AMRAD mounted, low or high (how high above large
objects?) ?

I have been without a decent lowfer antenna when my ALA100 loop amp
failed
but just got it back and the first thing that I captured tonite about
0117z
was XSR on 166.5 with a nice signal.Will be looking for others now that
all
is back up and working.I might note that I had built up the AMRAD
active
antenna and was using it for general listening.It seemed to work Ok but
once
I had the loop back and working it was rather amazing the
difference-with
the loop far the better ...but will continue to make checks on both now
that
I have both..
