I opened the steel canisters which were sealed
with what looks like electrical tape, as I would pull the tape and let
the
canisted spin in my fingers, at the point the tape seperated from the
steel
was a very bright blue corona, roughly 5/8" wide, the width of the tape,
and
fat, maybe half that of a toothpick

I believe that tape was/is called Friction Tape. My dad always had some
on hand
and it was used to wrap up electrical wires and such. Kinda like scotch
33 tape
is today. I havent seen it for sale for a long time but it is apparently
still on the market
used for a different purpose. I would think that it would be an emitter
of RF
and would be picked up on ELF. Dad would fuss as I wasted it watching the
blue fire
as I remember it was cloth and black impregnated and would stay kinda
sticky, eventually
drying out and either unravel or split open

amazing what you can find on this reflector
