Whoa. I think you are mixing your antenna advice, here. An E-field whip
antenna does benefit from height above ground, but does so because you are
effectively increasing the size of the antenna. It does not mean that
electromagnetic waves get stronger as you go up! A loop antenna that is 8
feet in diameter at the ground is still 8 feet in diameter at 50 feet above
the ground. You MIGHT gain a little noise immunity by increasing the
elevation of the antenna, though.

My receiving loop is about 5 feet above the ground at the lowest point, and
