Hi Bob,
Hope you are doing well.
>I have my Amrad Probe mounted over an FM and UHF Tv antenna on a roof
>tower no RF input filtering and no Intermod problems with about a 3 Ft w=
ip. The
>antenna uses a separate ground . The roof tower is tied into the other a=
ntennas ground field.
>Only problem is interference when the VCR connected to the TV antenna in=
on. Then there are some birds
>on LF Methinks next year one of the non tuned loops Ala Mitch may be in =
the works
>interested in your results
I my experience indicates the probe has to be at least 30ft from the hous=
e or you copy these appliances (which conduct and/or radiate all their na=
stiness to the house wiring). =20
I just installed a 10 to 1 transformer on the tree probe, which is now 20=
ft long, and the signal at the receiver came up over 16db! Plenty of sign=
al, now, for the R-75 without an amplifier, and the noise blanker complet=
ely removes the neighbor's light dimmer rasp. I just noticed that when I =
turn on the computer, however, there's a lot of added noise. Therefore, t=
he next move, tonight, will be to add a separate woods-ground to the tran=
sformer (probe side) instead of tying it to the coax shield going back to=
the receiver. Letcha know.
