If the signal is fading, the slower speeds like QRSS3 have
an advantage because of more repeats of the letters.
QRSS30 will magnify the screen image, but will not help in
determining if the letter is a B or D. On a slower speed you
can sometimes fill in missing parts of a letter because the entire
letter can be visible on the screen.
Also in selection of a transmit speed, recommendations are for
QRSS3 or QRSS10. QRSS10 was used successfully this past week
at power levels of 1600, 800, 400 and 200 Micro Watts from two different
stations on 10140.130 khz. Codewords were copied on all four Micro Watt
levels here and at other receive stations.
