Which reminds me, is the code for the wolf program available?  There might be a
few ways to speed it up.  Most signal processing code can make use of the 
SSE2 instructions of the P4 (and SSE in the PIII and later Athlons, or the 3DNow!
in the K6 and Athlons....).  Might be worth a look.
