It is always possible to work someone when "the band was good" - hv wkd guys
in Europe (on 6m) running 3 Watts to a dipole. These are the "magic
moments" that can occur on virtually any frequency be it 180 KHz or 10 GHz.
However, when push comes to shove, the antenna makes the difference 90+% of
the time. It's hard to beat the physics!
