Could be, or it may be something at this end. Switching back to the
other antenna should tell.

I have the RX running 24/7 and the computer captures a screen shot every
few minutes, so just let me know when you change antannas.

You probably have a very nice top load with the horizontal section of
the L, likely better than the top hat. I number crunched quite a bit
here before I built my antenna, and found that for my installation, at
least, a single long top load wire was equal to or better than a top
hat, and a lot less difficult to build.
