That doesn't sound like too much to ask.

One more idea. What about a listing of the operators e mail address right in the
comments section of the Beacon List. This would allow you to easily contact the
owner and verify current status before wasting time on a capture session. I know
the e mail addresses of some of the operators are given elsewhere and I did use
them last winter to verify their operation. I got quick responses from most of the
operators with useful up to date changes and other reception reports of their
beacons. Operators could even have a canned e mail response with up to date info
that could be fired off to answer a request. Simple and fast.

This should be completely voluntary. I suspect those operators provided this
service would get more reports than those that didn't. What NC and TAG have done
with their up to the minute status page is great, but everyone may not be able to
do this. The canned e mail response may be a suitable alternative.
