You really don't have to go to black and white to save on file size. If you
crop and reduce the size of the image to say 400 X 400 pixels and use just a
moderate amount of .jpg compression you should be able to have a great full
color image in about 25 - 30k. A 200 X 200 pixel image would be roughly 10 -
15k file size.

If you like, send me your full size images and tell me what size you want to
end up with and I'll take care of them for you. I can usually crop, resize,
color correct and sharpen an image in about 30 seconds so.
