I won't have my beacon on the air for a few days while I build up a LF SWR &
power meter to figure out the required turns ratio in my loop tuner box.
After some on the air tests last night, I discovered with the help of Lyle,
that my input impedance of my loop is off enough to cause troubles with my
final amp. I have all the parts sitting on the bench for the meter and will
get it built in a day or two. The 1-watt final did drive the loop well, but
it runs too hot and wouldn't be the most reliable; after all, no one wants
to try and listen for a weak beacon signal during the summer when it could
be stronger than it is now.
