[Lowfer] Series for WA slant

Mitch,
Thank you for the nice set of screen captures. The results are the opposite
of what I expected. It looks like in every case the slanted trace (always
the first of a 'WA' pair on each loop direction) appears stronger than the
horizontal trace. And sometimes a lot stronger! In fact your first capture
from 1153pm to 1223am indicates the WA just finishing at the far left is
equal in strength to the next slanting WA. This slanting WA is coming from
the N/S loop and would be down in strength by >10db at your location. Before
we take this to the bank I will check the keyer program to be sure I haven't
messed up on the sequencing. I'll also check the signal strengths in the
parking lot here at work. I should see pairs of equally strong WAs on the
SVM. BTW: Larry Putman's captures indicate the same readability improvement
for the slanted WAs as yours. (Thanks Larry!)
The reason for your loss in signal was that I shut down for a spell to run
an experiment on another antenna.
I'll be watching for your 60sec captures.
Thanks again!
Bill WA

Subject: [Lowfer] Series for WA slant
Hi Bill:
Clips of the complete overnight series of your slant modulation are at:
http://technology.fanshawec.on.ca/tele354
The first full one shows the time ticks (60 secs) so can be used as ruler
for the others though approximations seem to work. Difficult to tell where
you switched loops - if that is what was happening. Appears you actually
shut down at one time - it was so abrupt.
Maybe conditions won't be so good tonight (grin) so can attempt another run
to compare flat vs slant..
I will use 60 second capture - allowing better comparisons.
