[Lowfer] SHMRG list not 'closed' as such

Hi Mike,
I don't have anything going yet on transmit. I thought I would play chicken
and see what others are having success with antenna-wise. The transverter I
am planning for the K2 should work on 166.5, so I am not totally without a
plan. The receive part that I have already prototyped works quite well on
1800M.
There is a lot of info out there I need to read and digest before I can make
any intelligent decisions.
Good luck on the vertical. Mine is 50 feet tall and is made of two 25 foot
sections of aluminum tubing. I have a pseudo top hat consisting of three 6
foot wires wrapped around the top guy lines. I guess I need to add more
length to those and figure some decent way to add even more wire to the
thing. There aren't any other trees or such to put a real flat top in.

Conard,
Do you have anything brewing for 166.5??? I am putting up my vertical this
week/weekend and should have a beacon on the air as well. ID will be WE for
now.

Ralph is absolutely correct on this point. I guess closed was the wrong word
to use. The list server software requires the list owner to approve all
subscribers and the software rejects postings from non-subscribers. This is
what I meant by closed. Since Ken is the list owner, a note to him is
equivalent to a subscribe request.

It's closed only in that you must ask to join, not in the sense that you
are not wanted on the list. Closing the list in this way simply
prevents spammers from joining the list easily and causing endless
aggravation to list members. Please, feel free to join us; we need all
the help we can get!

PS - I'm greatly enjoying this list, and all the resources you have to
offer to anyone interested in operation below 600 Meters.
