[Lowfer] Lowfer Messages

Just an observation:
With the old mail-list software, incoming messages from the list appeared to
be coming from the original sender. I.E., if John Davis sent a message to
the list, I would receive an email with [Lowfer] in the message header, but
any reply I made would go directly to John. If I wished my reply to be sent
to everyone, I would include the list as a second recipient.
The new software does the reverse. A message from John Davis to the list is
routed to me with the same [Lowfer] header, but any reply I make will go to
the list, not John directly. If I wish to reply to John D., and not have
anyone else see it, I now must delete the list address, and substitute
John's.
There's nothing bad about this, and it is the same process used in the RSGB
LF mail list, but I thought someone should point it out, lest any of us send
messages to everyone that were only intended for one. It might also explain
some of the aborted email traffic from non-registered users.
Short tip: When responding to a message, look at the "To: " address before
hitting the Send key. This may prevent you from broadcasting a private
message to the Lowfer world.
