[Lowfer] More failures at 9k

All,

Last night I ran some field strength tests on the new BIG loop
(approximately 350ft X 50ft). The results were not much better than those
from the 50ft x 50ft copper pipe loop experiment, even when I tried out the
cross-over of the horizontal wires at the approximate mid-point.

The next experiment will be to use the 350ft upper horizontal wire in a base
loaded "T" configuration. If this shows promise I can almost double the
capacity by getting out the bow and installing wires off in different
directions. The loss from the AC resistance in the trees may not be that
significant compared to other losses at 9k. Hopefully I can build a low loss
100mh loading coil using large ferrite cores. An air-core would be a bit
unwieldy!

Later,

Bill WA
