Hi John,
Sorry, but couldn't get back to you until now.
I can't tell if your signal is stronger than this morning. Hope to repeat
today's SVM measurement again tomorrow so you can determine the %
improvement. I'm sure you agree that skywave measurements have way too many
variables to be of use in a 'before' and 'after' comparison. Did you have
time to measure the antenna parameters?
I had over an hour of sunlight after arriving home and decided to plant
another loop in the N/S direction similar to the new E/W. Ended up with a
straight and high upper with square corners. This loop is pretty much
invisible and will replace the old unsightly 3 x #12 having spacers, looking
like a ladder, with one vertical leg running next to the back of the house.
Later tonight while at the Mall I decided to buy 100ft of #8 to replace the
single #12 upper in the E/W loop. This will give a good reference for
compasison to the #6 'L' wire, should it ever arrive.

Me too, after almost three seasons! I'd just go one step further and add:
Not only "surrounded" but "embedded" in the trees. No more support ropes for
me.
Later,
Bill
