Hi Jon:
I ran into a similar problem with distance along the ground.
Present KAZ  is 80 feet across the bottom, but only about
20 feet high. Hidden very nicely in Spruce trees.

But - I did add a second wire, thus a two turn KAZ, and allowed
me to stick with my limit of 80 feet on ground, but effectively
doubled the wire ( and the resonance of the loop ).
Single wire would have been 170 foot perimeter, now have a 340
foot piece of wire. Really helped on LF and get >20 dB front to
back on broadcast band and LF.
Sometimes these loops are much quieter than the tuned or octoloop
in the presence of local "buzz".
