My opinion is to leave well enough alone!  If you want to start another
group fine.  Worst thing that can happen to a club is to have a bunch of
"new guys" come in, change it to suit their own desires, drive old
members out, and then lose interest and leave a ruined organization. 
I've belonged to LWCA since the meetings consisted of three or four guys
getting together in John Clement's kitchen.  In those days some people
were interested in hardware but most were sort of a long-wave equivalent
of SWL'ers, and obviously some still are.
