[Lowfer] Question on HP3586C

Folks,

I just received a HP3568C and intend to
use it as a low frequency receiver.

I don't have a manual, so I am still
learning how to operate the set.

So far, I have one question...
When using the set in the AUTO CAL
mode, I noticed the level display goes
into a calibration mode and then
reads the level usually in the -100dbm
level with no input. This occurs as I vary
the frequency. I am assuming the set
recalibrates itself as the frequency
is varied.

On certain frequencies, however, it
seems to attempt to cal but displays
a level reading of E 3.4. When I tune
past this frequency, it retries the CAL
function and again reads the level in dbm.

This is repeatable, and occurs on certain
frequencies. Would someone know
what this e 3.4 reading indicates?
Is it an error message, or an overload
condition. Any help would be appreciated.

Finally, I guess I should get a manual
for this set. Where could I purchase
a manual?
