Yes, it is.  It seems a though the total loss resistance of the antenna
system went from about 58 Ohms down to about 26 Ohms.  That equates to
roughly a 3.5 dB signal gain. Unlikely, but possible.  I have to drag
my spare RF ammeter out and see what it reads.  The one I have inline
with the antenna is a torrid pickup unit (I need to do a web page on it)
which is feeding a load resistor and thence to a rectifier circuit with
a range switch.

Nothing in the torrid has changed (unless someone sneaked in at night
and added a few turns to the windings!) and the meter circuits check
correct on my calibration box. It reads the same 3.9 Amps on all meter
ranges, so I have to conclude that something has actually caused the
current to increase.  More investigation is in order.
