I'm doing something similar with a project for the NJQRP club.  It's
a micro that outputs at RF directly via a DAC.  No separate DDS chip
needed.  They are really handy chips, but they're a bit limited for
some modes--anything with a modulated envelope.

If someone wants something more than a keyer, they should look at the ZL1BPU
box or the VLF beacon that I'm working on.
