I wish I had time to draw the system up for everyone...and
in Adobe Photoshop it wouldn't be too difficult, but no way
this week.
My wife is having surgery on Thursday, so I'll be nursing her
for the next week to ten days...plus as soon as I had the
trench dug, we got our first rain (and severe weather)
in months! Now, it's supposed to rain everyday for
a week. I've got mud like you wouldn't believe, and nice
new 16" ditches full of water but no cables!
Since the chokes and caps are fairly easy to install, I'm
going to bury the cables with isolation transformers on
both ends (no virgin ground rods) and see how it
goes. I'll add grounds, chokes, and caps as
needed after I can test the system.
Hopefully in a couple of weeks, I'll have the following
antennas up:
1. LF/MF Active Whip (remote varactor tuned. Built by
Bill Bowers and improved by Lyle K.)
2. 4 Foot Remote active tuned loop. LF/MF, controllable
with a relay for each band. Will tune 150khz to
2mhz in three "steps".
3. 50 Foot EWE with maximum pickup from the West.
This one has two 10 foot ground rods in Benonite. Hoping
for good things from this one.
73,
Les
