My tuning caps are all in the shack and I never have to retune the loop
other than when I QSY. One thing though- on SSB you CAN use the loop tuning
to optimise the received s/n for weak signals - it works by selectively
modifiying the AF response of the overall receive system. Gotta be heard to
be believed but it really works!
