Zoli: I have used LogPlus for about 20 yrs. Versions 3.65(Latest) and
Version 4.7. Since I collect YL qso's, one thing that I noticed that ver. 4
does not to do is tally them up when you run the single band tally. However it
did when version 4.1 was used. I recently bought Win-EQF and I am kicking
the tires but LogPlus is still easier to use. Would like to see export to
LoTW/Counting YL's/ and Some of the control features that Win-EQF has. Hope
it works out as I still like it very much. Mark N8MZ ex-WA8SAE

Dear All,

I always admired the ease-of use and intuitive solutions Bob has
implemented in LogPlus! and felt sorry when its development stopped. Last year I
asked Bob Winters, Logplus!'s author if he could give me the code to keep it
alive for a few faithful users and he generously gave me the entire code of
LogPlus!

My first goal is to recompile Logplus V4 to XP. Phase two will be to get
rid of a few errors I am aware of. Phase three would be to implement new
features. I plan to do Phase I within a few weeks.

If you have identified errors in the current code, which you find very
disturbing let me know, and if they are feasible, I will scope that in into
Phase 2.

Scope for Phase 3:

- telnet interface
- System variables (system time, port config etc)
- CAt protocol for newer radios (K3 etc) maybe via Omnirig module
- ADIF export
- LOTW export
- ADIF 2.x compatibility (Primary/Secondary subdivision etc)

I personally do not do electronic qsling, but if there is demand, I would
consider adding LOTW import.

I will send a note to LogPlus! reflector. I will do this for fun, all the
LogPlus! users can get the updates for free. On the other hand it will be a
hobby-project to keep LogPlus! alive, meaning no deadlines or commitments.

I do not have the intention neither to develop it to a full-blown DX-ing
suit (bloatware in my books) nor to gain financial benefits of it. I would
like to keep it a functional electronic logbook and keep the concept of
effectiveness, speed and ease of use Bob developed.

Your feedback will be appreciated.

73!
