[LogPlus] The End

Hi Terry,

The Orion won't work with LOGPLUS currently. The Omni VI and VI+ used
Icom CI-V addressing and communication protocols so they worked FB with
LOGPLUS.

TenTec is now using a proprietary communication protocol on the Orion
so just changing the address doesn't work. I also use a SteppIR antenna
with the Orion and it is nice to be able to click on a DX spot and have
the rig and antenna QSY to the correct frequency. If I add a rotator
with computer control it can turn to the correct heading (well short
path) also.

Using RTTY and PSK right from the logging program is also possible
with Logger32 (and many other newer programs).

I also use Writelog for contesting and Version 10.48F has the Pro2 as
a menu choice, doesn't that setting work with your rig?

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm sure there are many other rigs that
might be able to use a different address and still work with LOGPLUS.

73,

George / KF9YR

Subject: Re: Re[6]: [LogPlus] The End

Hi all,

I have been following this thread for a while. I am still a user of
LogPlus. I have not seen anything out there that I like, that would
replace it.

One comment I noticed was that someone wanted to change from LogPlus
because it would not work with the new TenTec Orion. Are you sure you
can not trick LogPlus into working with this radio? I am using a
Icom756Pro2 and it works fine although there is not a setup for it. I
used 5C as the ICOM radio address. Perhaps there is a address that would
work for the TenTec?

I believe I went to the WriteLog reflector and asked for the setup for a
pro2 for that program, which I use for contesting, as it also does not
support the Pro2. Out of those responses I found that 5C would work with
LogPlus. Perhaps I found the answer here on the reflector. I don't
remember now.

So if that is the only reason you want to change to another logging
program, perhaps something will work.

Terry/N6CW
